This is one of the longest RJ i write. It is something about my school and my life.

Qns: If you are presented with an opportunity to give a talk about Republic Polytechnic in a secondary school, what information besides PBL would you like to share to attract the students to RP?

Presenting… Republic Polytechnic Most Famous Speaker, Lareina
Venue: North Vista Secondary school

Juicy Information to share:
1. RP has very nice facilities. The school is all painted in cool white colour. You may think that it’s dull but it’s not. Wait till you see it! Most of the place is carpet floor. In fact, all of the classrooms are carpet floor.

2. There is a beautiful ramp that links the third level to first level. RP also adopt a ‘garden in the sky’ concept in the third level that also links all the buildings together. AND… We got lift! You do not need to climb all the way up to the top floor and pant like hell.

3. We can own our laptop. This is what many dreams for. RP requires students to bring laptop to school. RP is wireless! And that means that we can IM everyday since your laptop will be with you most of the time.

4. RP life is some sort of like secondary school life. So if you still miss it, you will still feel emotionally attached to secondary school in RP. And don’t worry. You will definitely miss your secondary school like I do now. I rather retake ‘O’ Level again than being in Polytechnic.

5. Plus, Life in AIR-CON rocks. Everywhere you walk is almost air-conditioned. Even the canteen is air-conditioned. This is something you would die for when you are now in secondary school.

6. RP will be the Largest and Newest Polytechnic in Singapore if it has been built finish. SP will no longer the largest polytechnic. RP will also be participating actively in community.

7. Right now, RP has 5 schools – SEG, SIT, SAS, and SHL and… STA! [Talks abit about the schools, then…]

8. STA – School of Technology for the Arts. STA even had our own playground which is the Cultural Centre. It is going to be built soon and there will be able to hold a lot of performances and concerts.

9. STA had our own mentorship programmes. It enables STA students to have hands-on experience before we take our courses in the second year. On first year, we will be building our basic and foundation that is recapping what we learn in secondary school. These programmes also expose us to the outer world so that we will know what the working life is like. In the recent mentorship programme, we had four mentors from outside to teach and guide us through to put up a performance. We started from writing our own script all the way to doing make-up for our own actors. It is basically doing everything that we need to do for a performance to be put up. This also helps us to build our portfolio as early as we could. Do not wait till the end then start to rush. It will already be too late. RP requires us to do professional profiling in our second year. If you had connections with someone outside, it would help a lot.

10. WE had a wide range of IGs. One of the special IG is Electronic Music Productions. It trains us even in PBL system. It provides sound reinforcement in RP so we could save money. We do not need to hire others and waste money. DJ is the IN thing today. And… Drama rocks! Though I’m not in it, but drama still rocks. In RP, we also had to attend workshop that help to upgrade oneself and also earn CE points which is like CCA points.

11. Lastly, RP had our very own Lame king, Keith! He is currently situated at buildingW1 level6 classroom. Do visit if you want to have some chilling times!
